4m 1-0 Monteiro - FCPK started strongly and took 4min to give Repy a taste of the football that was to be played this day. From the back, Keeper Giordo played it wide to Weichel, a quick ball down the line to Duun with beautiful one-touch football to Neale who then flicked it forward for Monteiro who arrived at pace behind the defence at the halfway line. Rounding the Repy Goalkeeper, Monteiro then side-footed into the net.
9m 2-0 Neale – FCPK continued to apply pressure on all parts of the pitch and with Duun, Monteiro and Neale constantly on the Repy defence, Neale pounced onto a poor back pass to slot the ball past the Repy Goalkeeper.
24m 3-0 Duun – Monteiro stripped the ball off the Repy Right-Back, then driving to the by-line crossing for Duun to finish with a cool strike.
31m 4-0 Duun – Sellers was now commanding the midfield with his inch-perfect distribution to the available pace out wide and front. Following some strong tackling Sellers won the ball and picked out a flying Duun with a good through-ball. Duun still had much to do but finished past an advancing Repy Goalkeeper.
33m 4-1 Poor clearance defence by FCPK allowed Repy to score a soft consolation goal.
HALF-TIME: 4-1
38m Missed Penalty – FCPK started the second half in the same fashion as the first with Repy unable to deal with the pace and strength through the middle and out wide. Duun collected a tackle inside the box without the ball however the deserved penalty was missed.
41m 5-1 Neale – Strong pressure again by FCPK was rewarded with Duun taking the ball off the Repy Left-back, beating one more player before passing to Neale to finish.
66m 5-2 – Another poor clearance by FCPK allowed Repy to pull another goal back.
FULL-TIME: Sokol Repy 2 – 5 FCPK MZ (B)
MAN OF THE MATCH: Meech-Tatic – Rade highlighted the performance of the whole team – strong in defence, hard in the tackle and played fantastic at centre back. His best game of the season for FCPK.
Paul Monteiro (Coach): Three wins out of three for the second half of the Spring season and this was one of the most important. Wanting to reverse the 2-5 defeat to Repy in the first half of the season, and take the chance to go 2nd in the League, FCPK knew they had a point to prove. A strong team-talk before the game focused the players minds on the job ahead individually and as a team, and for 70min every player then gave 110%. All players did what they were asked to do, they tackled for each other, they ran for each other and it was a fantastic team performance. They gave Repy a footballing lesson today which was a joy to watch for us as Coaches and the travelling supporters.
