32m 1-0 Putyatin (assist Brewer) – FCPK started and finished the first half defensively strong. A single goal in the first half was deserved for FCPK and created when Moglinicki played a long ball for Brewer who was then strong in the tackle, quickly losing his man to cross for an unmarked Putyatin to score.
HALF TIME: 1-0
42m 1-1 Ruzyne – Despite dominating the start of the second half, a quick break from Ruzyně created an overlap with their striker scoring despite a diving Zoubek.
49m 2-1 Putyatin – Putyatin was rewarded for his strong running in the opposition half and with Brewer pressurising the Ruzyně keeper, his loose clearance found Putyatin outside the box who drove the ball low into the corner of the net with a first-time strike.
54m 2-2 Ruzyne – FCPK failed to clear from a defensive corner with Ruzyně failing at multiple attempts at a goal before the ball found its way wide of Zoubek and into the net.
62m 3-2 Chrobok (assist Brewer) – Fantastic one-touch football from Zoubek, Monteiro, Laštovka and Sellers found Brewer in the Ruzyne 1/3 who beat two mean before a visible foul was made on him. Despite protests the referee waved play on which Chrobok took advantage of to drive into the box and score in the top left corner.
The remaining 10min was all FCPK with Duun hitting the post after some slick 1-2 passing with Monteiro, the latter then providing a perfect cross for Dasbach whos effort went just wide. Sellers pushed higher in the pitch with Laštovka but despite multiple fantastic attempts by both another goal could not be found.
FULL TIME: FCPK MZ (B) 3-2 TJ Ruzyne
MAN OF THE MATCH: Putyatin – Not selected initially for the squad, as a result of a last-minute withdrawl, Putyatin proved to himself and the team the worth of his call-up just one hour before the match with two fantastic goals.
Paul Monteiro (Coach): The boys were asked to pick up from the win over Suchdol the week before and prove to themselves, the spectators & coaches that they are genuine top three contenders for this League. And again, despite being one year younger and giving away size and strength to the Ruzyne players, everyone of the boys played the flowing, on-the-ground football that will match any team in this league, and they didn’t disappoint. One long-serving spectator commenting that the football played was a joy to watch. As coaches we now have the confidence that we can push this team even further.
